KnowFirm — Privacy Policy (DRAFT)
DRAFT for owner + counsel review. Not legal advice.
What KnowFirm provides
KnowFirm delivers business firmographic and identity data compiled from authoritative public sources. Most records describe organizations, not individuals. Some records may include personal information incidental to a business (e.g. a sole proprietor's name, an officer/registered agent, or beneficial-owner context) where it appears in public records.
Sources & lawful basis
Data originates from public-record and public-domain sources (see Data Sources & Attribution). Processing relies on the public nature of the records and legitimate business-verification interests. KnowFirm does not knowingly collect special-category data and is not an FCRA consumer reporting agency.
Your rights & opt-out
Individuals may request access, correction, or removal/opt-out of personal information. Honored opt-outs are suppressed across API responses and persist across data refreshes so removed records do not reappear. See the Opt-Out Policy. Requests: privacy@knowfirm.com.
Exceptions: information required to remain available by law, or sanctions/denied-party records (removing a sanctioned party from screening is not permitted).
State data-broker disclosures
KnowFirm may qualify as a "data broker" under certain U.S. state laws (e.g. California, Vermont, Texas, Oregon). Required registrations and the consumer-rights/deletion mechanisms are tracked in the owner's compliance checklist and will be reflected here once filed.
